British Library appoints Emperor to design new intranet

20/04/2007

The British Library has awarded Emperor the contract to create a new information architecture and design for its eight year old intranet.

Emperor has recently completed a re-design of the entry point to the British Library's external website, which has radically improved searching capability, and the same look and feel now need to be applied to its internal knowledge bank.

Holding around 4,000 pages of data, the British Library wants the new design to improve communications with its 2000 staff and to make the intranet the primary source of news and information. The new design should also enable staff to find policy and project documentation more efficiently, make transactional systems easier to use and improve collaborative working.
