Emperor launches new content management system

19/07/2007

Managing and updating your website is now faster, easier and simpler, with Emperor's new content management system. Emperor has launched a new content management system (cms) to give clients greater control over the content on their web sites.

Enhanced editing facilities

Clients will now be able to create new content and retain it in draft form within the cms until it has been reviewed, approved and is ready to go live. A marketing manager might edit content, to be reviewed by a compliance officer and then be published by a designated webmaster. This new scheduling and version control feature allows cms users to work on separate draft pages and schedule them for launch on the live site on a selected date - a facility ideal for annual results announcements, marketing campaigns or the release of new product information. A simple archive acts as a powerful audit trail by recording each version and providing information on when the content was approved and by whom.

Improved editing facilities allow clients to work on a snapshot of the live site, where they can drag and drop text and images to test how the final screen will look. Moving pages within the site structure is now simpler, with the option to publish changes immediately or on the next scheduled update.

The new cms will also allow clients to manage multiple sites and will reduce website development timescales.

Improved security

Within the enhanced user management function, the central website owner can set up levels of authority for other cms users - specifying whether these users can view, edit or publish specific pages.

Greater control

Clients can now keep their websites up-to-date internally, maintaining control of both content and brand. The new cms has been designed in direct response to feedback from existing clients, to help them address their business requirements, match their business processes and meet with compliance and audit standards.

Although it is built using Microsoft.net technology, the cms is designed for non-technical users with limited resources and technical knowledge, helping them deliver their brand online and making it easier for them to keep their websites fresh and up-to-date.
